WHAT IS YOUR TRAINING STYLE?
Balanced Training means we teach the dogs what we DO want and what we DON'T want from them. I use prong collars, Ecollars, slip leads, treats, Place cots, crates and permission-based training. This takes away ALL confusion or gray areas for the dog. It becomes very clear and predictable for them, and this allows their minds (and bodies!) to SLOW and relax. A calm dog is a happy dog!
ARE YOU THE RIGHT TRAINER FOR ME & MY DOG?
I am very selective about who I will take on as a client. If YOU are ready to change, work and learn, then I am 100% ready to help you every step of the way. Nothing will change with your dog if YOU don’t change!
Here is a list of things that you MUST be 100% on board with if you want to be successful with your dog at home:
Crate at night
Crate when you leave the house
Structured walks
Duration Place
Threshold manners
Giving firm, meaningful consequences when needed
CAN I VISIT MY DOG DURING THE 2-WEEKS?
Social visits are not allowed during the Board & Train program. However, you are welcome to come by between days 14-18 for a structured walk with your dog.
WILL MY DOG BE COMPLETELY TRAINED AFTER 2 WEEKS?
Training is never "complete" or "over". At the end of 2 weeks, your dog will have a solid foundation that YOU will then continue to BUILD ON at home. Training is a lifestyle. Dogs are not robots. They will make mistakes and real life happens. My goal is to arm you with the knowledge and tools you need to work through issues and help your dog succeed!
DO I HAVE TO CRATE MY DOG AND USE PLACE?
YES. If crating your dog at night and when you're not home is something that you are uncomfortable with, I am not the right trainer for you!
Place command is VITAL to the state of mind training we focus on here. If this is not continued at home, you will likely continue to struggle with calmness and respect from your dog.
WILL I RECEIVE UPDATES WHILE MY DOG IS WITH YOU?
YES! I will post videos on Facebook and be in touch via text or messenger with you daily. I would never want to leave my dog somewhere and not know how he is doing!
I am very open and honest. I will tell you what your dog is excelling at and what will need added time and focus once you take them home.
WILL MY DOG BE SCARED OR HURT BY THE PRONG COLLAR OR ECOLLAR?
NO! A big reason I post so many videos each day is to show that these collars are gentle and effective. When used correctly, they are simply a means of communication between human and dog. EVERY dog here thrives and develops a solid, loving bond with me because they learn I am someone they can trust and look to for guidance!
Higher levels on the Ecollar can be uncomfortable, but when used as a corrective measure to stop unwanted behaviors, they are the most humane, effective way to do so. Dogs are returned to shelters and given away daily for issues that can be stopped in mere seconds.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME AT DROP-OFF?
All you need to bring with you is:
Enough food for their stay
Signed contract (this is emailed to you the week before drop-off)
Remaining payment
That's it! I have everything else your dog will need!
HOW MANY DOGS DO YOU TRAIN AT ONCE?
I only take on 1-3 Board and train dogs at a time. This ensures each dog gets the time and they deserve! Boarding spots are always available, first come first serve!
AM I READY FOR THIS PROGRAM?
Ask yourself: AM I READY TO:
..crate my dog - which is a safe place to sleep at night and hang out while I'm not home and/or I can't pay attention to him/her. Every time.
...to walk my dog - which is the most important leadership exercise. Every day.
...do passive training (Place) with my dog - which is the key part of my dog's calm mindset. For hours. Every day.
...to use the training tools - which allow clear communication with my dog even off-leash. Forever.
...to provide the structure, and keep up the rules, and boundaries - which my dog thrives on. Forever.
...to hold my dog accountable and correct EVERY mistakes he/she makes accordingly - which helps my dog make good choices and sustain my position as her/his leader. All the time.
...to put the work and effort it takes to have a healthy, amazing relationship with my dog - which makes both of us satisfied, happy and relaxed. Every. Single. Day. Forever.
